** Implant an internationally recognized microchip

** Can toys be placed inside the crate 

To ensure the safety of your pet during the flight, all collars, leads, clothing, and toys must be removed before they are settled into the kennel.

** Can pets be sedated during the journey

Pets should not be sedated during travel as it is discouraged by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Sedatives can have adverse effects during the flight, including cardiac arrhythmia, hypotension, central nervous system depression, convulsions, and loss of balance and breathing difficulties.

** Can pets eat and drink during the journey

Pets are generally not allowed to eat or drink during an airplane journey for safety and cleanliness reasons. It is recommended to contact the airline for specific guidelines and to ensure your pet has access to water for hydration during the flight.

** Can we purchase insurance for our pets during the journey

Airlines do not provide insurance policies for pets during the journey. Any liability for damages or incidents involving pets, including death, is typically declined by the airline as stated in the transport document. However, pet owners can seek private insurance policies for their pets through insurance agencies.

** Are there any specific training methods to reduce anxiety in pets during the journey

Certainly. Here are some important training methods to help reduce anxiety in pets during the journey :  1/ Gradually acclimate the pet to the kennel or carrier well in advance of the trip. Make it a positive and comfortable space for them, allowing them to associate it with safety and relaxation.  2/ Place an item with the owner's scent, such as a t-shirt or blanket, inside the kennel . This can provide a sense of familiarity and comfort for the pet.  3/ Maintain a calm and relaxed demeanor in the days leading up to the trip and on the day of departure. Pets can pick up on their owner's emotions, so staying calm can help reduce their anxiety.

** How should pets be arranged during layovers/transfers

Some airlines may require pets to remain in their travel crates or kennels throughout the entire journey, while others may allow supervised breaks or provide designated areas for pets to exercise and relieve themselves.  Keep pets secure: Ensure that the pet remains securely inside their travel crate or kennel during the layover. This helps prevent any accidental escapes or injuries.

** Where are pets usually placed on an airplane

Pets are typically placed in the cargo hold of an airplane. The cargo hold is a designated area specifically designed for transporting animals in a safe and controlled environment. This area is separate from the passenger cabin and is equipped with appropriate temperature and ventilation systems to ensure the well-being of the pets during the flight.

** Why do airlines have temperature or climate restrictions

Airlines have temperature restrictions to ensure the well-being of animals during travel. Temperatures must be within a safe range (not exceeding 29°C/84°F or below 7°C/45°F) to prevent any potential harm to the animals. Brachycephalic breeds have additional temperature restrictions (not exceeding 24°C/75°F). It is important to comply with these guidelines to prioritize the safety and health of the animals.
